- Spiritual Way to Zone in on Right Path?
I was born August 22, 1959. I have always been multi-talented, but didn’t fine-tune any of those talents. I’d like to do that now, and find a career I can really enjoy. Is there a spiritual way I can zone in on the right path for me? – Louise

Louise, you have come to the right place! I used to be an accountant. One day I realized I could not do this work for even one more day. So I put in my two-week notice and quit. I had no income, no prospective jobs, two kids and a whole bunch of people who were whispering behind my back that I had lost my mind — but just look where I wound up, and what I wound up doing.
I am not saying that this is the only way or the right way; I am just saying that it worked for me. I opened myself up to the universe and asked the universe/ God/ spirit/ Allah to put me where I belonged. I was on the Internet one day and I saw an ad for a company that was hiring psychics, and I thought, “Hey, I could do that.”
It turned out to be one of those 900 number services. It was not at all what I ultimately wanted to be doing, but I knew I was getting closer, so I pursued it. Some time later I was supervising people on that line and trained a woman who told me about a new site, called “Psychic Chat,” that was hiring online psychics. So, as you can see, I did not go searching for anything. It was all just brought to me, and I followed the signs.
I strongly suggest that everyone open up to the possibility of something new, and then just keep your eyes open. What you need will be brought to you. If you had told me when I was still working in accounting that I would be working online as a psychic, I would have had quite a hearty laugh. I would never have picked this line of work for myself, and yet now, I know it is where I belong. You may not see the outcome at the time you take a leap of faith, but you absolutely must follow the signs. I know that when listening to stories like mine, many people say, “That is she. This won’t happen to me.” If it can happen to me, it can happen to you if you let it.
By opening up to spirit, you are allowing whatever spirit wants for you. I cannot think of a more spiritual way of manifesting clarity on what direction you should be pursuing. I think we often get caught up in the financial aspects of work, and we choose what we think would profit us the most. When allowing spirit to bring you the proper job, you are often faced with a huge prosperity lesson. The bottom line is that you will have what you need, and prosperity is much more than a paycheck. Remember I said that!

Here is an exercise you can use to meet and talk to your career angel. You’ll need a violet candle, a white candle, a glass of water, rose and sandalwood oil. You’ll also need cinnamon bath oil for the ritual bath.
Breathe deeply and build a ball of protective light around you. While soaking in your bath, meditate on the whole ritual, namely the steps you will take and what you wish to say to your spirit guide when you make contact. After your bath, cast a circle, enter the circle and light the incense. With the oil, dress the altar candles while concentrating on the purpose of the ritual. Inscribe the white candle with the word “Truth” and the violet candle with the word “Spirit.”
Light the anointed candles and state your intention by saying, “Here I light the lamps of spirit. May the light radiate across this world to the world of Spirit. May the light from these lamps blend and grow, dispelling all darkness and lighting the way for my spirit guide to come and speak with me here today. As these candles burn throughout this ritual, their power generates nothing but truth in all that transpires between this world and the next, in all communications that come to me.” With incense, scent the altar area while chanting the word “merge.” Replace the censer and continue chanting.
Sit comfortably while chanting and gaze into the clear glass of water. Continue chanting until it feels right to let the chant taper off. Then quietly look into glass, not trying to picture anything; keep your mind blank. Just look into the glass and try not to notice anything in your peripheral vision. Eventually a face or figure will appear in the surface of the water. This may take a long time, or it may appear almost immediately.
If nothing comes at all within approximately 20 minutes, abandon this attempt. Extinguish the candles in the order in which they were lit, leave the altar set up, and try this ritual again in three days. You should have results within a month at most. Remember, it takes practice to be able to do this, so be patient.
When a figure does appear, ask if he/she is your spirit guide. You will hear an answer, maybe not out loud, but you will be aware of the it. This is how most of your conversation will proceed. You will ask your questions in your mind or out loud, and the answers will be clear inside your mind. You may ask anything you wish to know.
When you have finished speaking with your guide, thank him/her, then sit for a moment with your eyes closed, meditating on all that you have learned. Extinguish the candles in reverse order to clear the circle. This ritual is also very good for removing other blocks to progress of any kind. Good luck, and enjoy your guidance.
