Sometimes when I’m in the dark preparing to go to sleep or when I’m awakened in the night, I see a tiny spark of light. It’s like a little star in the room. It’s usually a soft yellow, but sometimes it’s blue. I’ve always referred to these as little angels, but I would like to know what is really happening. Also, a couple of times in my life I was awakened by a soft, clear voice calling my name, and I’ve wondered if these two things were connected. At first I was afraid of the voice because someone once told me never to answer a voice you didn’t recognize because it may be evil. This voice, however, was lovely to hear, and I felt sorry afterwards that I didn’t respond because it felt like I had rejected a beautiful gift. What are your thoughts on this? My birth date is May 26, 1956.

Everyone has a different type of gift, and even similar gifts manifest in different ways. My birth mother has a psychic gift of smell.
For example, she walked into a building one time and was overwhelmed by the smell of vinegar. Every room she went into, she could smell vinegar. Finally after a few visits to the same building, she asked the owner why she could smell vinegar so strongly. The owner was stumped, as no one but my mother could smell it.
A few weeks later, the owner stopped my mother in a store and told her that before his building was built on that land, there was an old vinegar factory there.
Your own gift is that you can see spiritual beings, such as guides, angels, and helpers of all kinds. The voice you hear is such a being visiting you. They want you to wake and see them. They want you to know that they are there.
The soft yellow and blue lights are different beings. I don’t believe they are angels or guides; they are other spirits trying to manifest in a form that you can see.
The land that you live on is haunted — there are spirits attached to the land. You also have spirits attached to you that just like to be around you. Light is a form of electricity. Spirits are best able to manipulate electricity because it is just raw energy. We often see lights or have the lights or electrical appliances in our house flicker or turn off and on.
I have heard the same line you did about not answering voices because they could be evil. I sure am glad I do not subscribe to that theory, or I could not be working as a psychic today!
I think we must know that we are protected beings. If, however, you are in doubt, you can always say out loud, “If you are not here in love and light, I command you in the name of the one God to leave this place immediately.” If the being stays, you can trust it is not evil.
You can also ask for protection every day before your feet hit the floor by saying something like, “God, I ask that you protect me throughout this entire day. Thank you.” You can then trust that you are protected.
You did not “reject a beautiful gift. It’s okay for you to have had the reaction you had. I know when things manifest in physical form around me, I often have the same type of reaction, and close my eyes or look away.
You will be given another chance. “They” know you are open to the concept. Do not be afraid of anything around you, for you are a divine child of the universe.

The specks you see are very common to lots of us. Mine are purple and orange. As your mind winds down and prepares for sleeping and dreaming, the specks of light your brain has stored during the day materialize as specks that appear a bit like glitter swirling around in the dark.
Most people experience this when they are tired, stressed or just having a hard time relaxing into sleep. These lights are neither sinister nor wonderful: They’re just a natural process of the human brain as it gets ready to shut off its conscious functions.
I don’t sense any connection between those specks and the voice you heard. That voice was the sound of one of your guardian angels trying to get your attention. She has been trying to contact you for many years. When you actually hear her, you become afraid and stop the process before you hear what she has to tell you.
As a Gemini, you may experience more “blockage” than most people who are trying to “hear” angelic voices, because your brain is usually working twice as hard as the average person’s. Try to build up your reception with deep breathing and meditation exercises.
While I realize it’s difficult for anyone with your birth date to sit still long enough to receive such messages, I also feel they are important to your personal well-being. Find something that works for you. Yoga and Tai Chi often work well for Geminis because they involve some movement, which can help restless, high energy folks get centered.
Our angels have lots to say to us. If you are able to connect with her, be sure you have a little notebook and pencil handy to write down the messages you hear in meditation, visions or dreams. Angelic messages are fleeting at best, and it’s hard to mentally hold onto them for even a few minutes. The more you can clearly retain them, the more you can use them to create new blessings in your life.
I can’t understand why someone would tell you that any voice you hear would be evil. Geminis are very impressionable. This is one of the major things that have blocked your angel from reaching you.
I doubt whoever told you this was qualified to advise you on such a subject. She may have been jealous of your ability to hear your angels, or maybe she just wanted to feel important that day.
In any case, be careful about letting others mislead you. With your birth date, it’s already hard enough for you to focus on spiritual matters. Making up your own mind and making your own decisions when it comes to your beliefs will go a long way with that Angel communication.
