I bought some green money candles. One is a pyramid with an eye in the middle, and the other three are inscribed for money and luck. I always pray before I light them, visualize abundance, and then pray again afterward. I need extra money so I can buy a house. Do you think this will work for me? Is this a good way to manifest prosperity, or is there something else I should be doing? Thanks!

I personally have never much believed in the power of ritual. I had a good friend who was an Italian Catholic, and we would discuss our different belief systems from time to time. She would wave her hands around and say, You people - you have no RITUAL!
I have always been the sort of girl who just speaks what I want in my head or out loud. Either way CAN work, because the power to create what we want comes from our intention, our belief system, and our true thoughts, not the ritual itself.
That being said, what is your actual belief system regarding the money you need for a house? Do you believe you can actually get it by praying and lighting these candles? Or are you just hoping that this will work?
As many of you know, I'm a firm believer in the movement underway as a result of the book and movie The Secret (www.thesecret.tv). If you haven't seen this movie or read this book yet, I suggest you get to it as soon as possible!
In The Secret, we are shown that the Universe says only one thing to us, and that one thing is basically, Your wish is my command.
Therefore we get whatever we think about, every single time.
I know people who were so worried that they were going to get a disease, and focused so much thought on that disease, that of course that disease manifested. The universe doesn't hear I want or I do not want. The Universe only hears that the person is spending most of their time thinking about and sending a lot of energy to this sickness, so the sickness has to show up for them.
Where are you putting the majority of YOUR focus? On the lack of the money you need, or on actually receiving that money? It's imperative that we all pay attention to our habit of thought and how we feel when we focus on what we want.
To use an example directly from The Secret, if we want to get out of debt, we can't constantly be thinking about debt. We have to focus on prosperity and take our mind OFF of the debt. Bob Proctor, one of the men featured on The Secret, suggests setting up an automatic repayment program so we can focus on abundance.
You need to just focus on the house you want and not the fact that you don't have the money for it yet. When you think about it, think of every detail with hope and expectation. Build the house in your head from the flooring to the lighting fixtures you prefer. If you focus only on what you want and stop dwelling on the notion that you need more money to get it, you will move toward the fulfillment of this dream.

The Law of Attraction says that we create what comes into our lives. If using those candles to focus your mind on abundance and prosperity brings those things to you, that's super!
People are unique individuals, so what works for one might not work for another. For me, the path to money and abundance involves work. I think it's wrong for ME to pray or use any kind of spell for money. It's my own personal feeling that it's wrong to ask via prayer or meditation for abundance to just fall into my lap.
I know I'm not going to win the lottery, so I never gamble or play. In my meditations, I focus more on world peace, love and the health and welfare of others. I do, however, have lots of friends and relatives who seem to have a pretty good track record when it comes to acquiring physical assets through all sorts of prayers, spells or wishes.
The effectiveness of any ritualistic practice depends on the intensity, focus, and energy of the person who is performing it. I find that many people manifest success when they accept that abundance is available to them. Acceptance of that premise is difficult for many of us who feel overwhelmed by our daily lives or perhaps undeserving of prosperity. No matter what deity you're asking, the God or Goddess of your choice desires for you to have all you want and need.
Candles work by sending your message, and there are thousands of prayers of this kind. Every one of them uses the energy of at least one of the four basic elements (Earth, Water, Air, or in the case of candles, Fire). The candle, inscriptions, fire, smoke, and even the holder for the candle can be important aspects of your ritual.
These are what will carry
your message to the Deity to whom you are praying. Praying before and after and simply giving thanks even before you receive what you desire is always wise. The candles become a concrete point on which to focus your attention and extend your intention. It's also important that you feel you deserve to receive whatever you're asking for.
I don't use candles inside because I'm afraid I'll forget to blow them out and burn the house down, but as long as you're careful with them, I guess this makes as much sense as any other sort of prayer for prosperity you might do.
The candles you have sound pretty, and green IS the color of success. Besides, as long as you're sincere, prayer of any kind will never bring you a negative outcome. It's been my experience that if people BELIEVE something will work for them, it usually will.

Many times in life we hear, "You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT." Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown's book was all it took to get you there.
Even though you hadn't read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!
While I don't usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity - you gotta love it!
I like your description of "getting caught." That's exactly what it feels like, isn't it? One minute you're free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!
As a little kid, I loved that "feeling of return." With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.
I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family's interest in "psychic stuff" will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.
You'll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she'll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn't nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it's STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!
Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.
A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don't get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you're doing here on Earth.
You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
