Double Vision: Is it Safe for Pregnant Women to See Psychics?

Playing Sidewalk Tarot

It is safe for a pregnant woman to see a psychic? I am a little afraid of what might happen spiritually to my child inside of me if I decide to go to a psychic and don't leave all of this in God's hands. In general, do we invite any negative spiritual repercussions by seeing psychics instead of practicing faith that everything will be just fine?

Astrea:

So many people come to me to ask if they are pregnant, will get pregnant, when the right time to be pregnant for them would be, if they are going to have a boy or a girl, what they should name the baby, if they will ever have children, etc. These are very common questions, and the answers are useful in that they help people to plan and prepare for the future.

Whether a person is pregnant or not, seeing a psychic will not cause harm to come to anyone. Of course, what goes on in your head goes on in your body, so it certainly will affect your unborn child. For example, a woman who is stressed and fearful will pass those energies on to her baby.

One recent study even suggests that stress during pregnancy causes asthma and other allergies in babies. Hormones during pregnancy can cause some pretty bizarre feelings and behavior at times. If you're going to one extreme or another about anything, it can affect you and your baby.

If seeing a psychic causes you stress, fear, or other negative feelings, then you probably shouldn't be seeing a psychic at all, whether you're pregnant or not. If you think it's wrong to seek that kind of help, then it's wrong for you, and you should avoid it.

You're getting the reading, not the baby. I've never heard of anything bad happening to a fetus because the mother got a reading while she was pregnant. Psychics can't cause harm to an unborn child, and a real psychic wouldn't cause harm to happen to anyone even if she could.

On the contrary, readings are usually comforting and helpful. Mothers may be warned and advised about things to do during and after pregnancy to ensure the safety and happiness their children. Potential dangers pointed out during a reading can often be avoided completely.

Some women will come during pregnancy because they're searching for nannies or childcare and they want to know more about the people they interview as caregivers. A good psychic reader can get a lot from the name of a potential employee. (This works not only for nannies, but for other employees as well.)

I do about ten readings a week for people who want to know if they're hiring the right person for some job, and also from people who want to know what a new boss would be like at a job they're thinking about taking.

You can have faith that God's will is done and still go see a psychic. Psychic reading work isn't sinister or sinful; after all, God gives people who are psychic their gifts.

First let me assure you that there is no danger in going to see a psychic when you are pregnant, as long as it is someone you know and trust. For the most part, psychics exist to help you and encourage you. There is no reason to believe that you would be inviting negative spiritual repercussions, nor does going to see a psychic imply that you are not practicing faith that everything will be just fine.

There are some important factors to keep in mind, however. Pregnant or not, you should always be careful to choose a professional psychic with a good reputation. Unfortunately, there are some so-called psychics who are not practiced in the art of counseling. This is not something you need while you are in the midst of pregnancy, nor should you ever engage the services of an advisor who does not treat your concerns in an uplifting and positive way.

If you are consulting the services of a psychic in order to find out about your pregnancy and how it will go, a visit to a reputable psychic will be an empowering experience. His or her purpose will be to enlighten you to any problems that could crop up and offer ways to counteract or avoid trouble during your pregnancy.

Additionally, the psychic will be able to tell you much about this little wonder growing within you, like what type of personality the baby will have. He or she may also be able to outline this little one's destiny for you and offer you a birds-eye view of how to best contribute to the health and well-being of your new son or daughter.

If you have never had a psychic reading, ask some of your friends to recommend someone, or read our Kajama psychics' profiles and reviews to form an idea of what each has to offer. One or two will stand out to you, and if you trust your instincts, you'll be sure to gravitate to the right one.

It's natural to feel some uneasiness or fear while you are pregnant. A psychic reading could very well put your mind at ease, alert you to things to avoid, and make the whole experience more wonderful in general.

While it's important to have faith that everything will work out just fine, a psychic reading can empower you to give your new child a great start by providing you with insightful information, guidance and assurance. If you have had psychic readings before and have faith in what you've been told, you can rest assured that having a reading for your unborn child will help you to become a more confident parent.

Many times in life we hear, "You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT." Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown's book was all it took to get you there.

Even though you hadn't read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!

While I don't usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity - you gotta love it!

I like your description of "getting caught." That's exactly what it feels like, isn't it? One minute you're free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!

As a little kid, I loved that "feeling of return." With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.

I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family's interest in "psychic stuff" will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.

You'll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she'll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn't nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it's STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!

Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.

A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don't get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you're doing here on Earth.

You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
