I need your insight on some odd experiences I've had. One night I was practicing reading tarot in my room when suddenly I heard a young girl's voice asking for help. I heard it from my window. This had also happened to me before when I was outside taking out the trash. Since then the voice has stopped, but I'm not sure what it was. Was it a neighbor's daughter playing a joke on me, or is there something here that I haven't figured out? Thank you for your time.

Noberto, this was definitely a neighborhood child playing a trick on you. She thinks it is funny to watch people look around when she calls for help. You are not the only person she does this to. She has entirely too much time on her hands, and she is over-indulged. I think if they got her involved in things that kept her mind busy, she would stop playing pranks on the neighborhood. She is also the one who knocks or rings the bell and runs.
You DO have spirits living in your house with you, though. You actually have a man and a woman that were living together on that land. They are not attached to your home but to your land. There was water nearby when they were there. She liked to go down to the water and put her feet in and cool off. They had a child while they lived on that land. They were very happy there together and they share a deep love for each other.
Their story is quite sad in some ways. He went off to hunt or trap or find food. She stayed home, obviously. He did not come back. She waited for a couple of years. He never came back. Meanwhile, the neighboring landowner would come and check on her and the child. He would do the heavy work around the place for her when he could. He ended up wooing her slowly but surely, and they started a physical relationship. She was fond of him but she did not love him. He was kind to her and the child and that was important to her. They made a life together.
The child grew up and married and started her own life. The neighbor man died in some freak accident. That is when the woman started to have dreams of her dead husband. The long and the short of the story is that the neighbor killed the husband so that he could have the wife. When the wife discovered this, she was of course horrified. She could not believe that a man as kind as the neighbor had done such a horrible thing, but she "knew" that her husband was correct.
When she died, he was waiting for her and they resumed their life as it once was. That is why they now "haunt" the land where you live. They are still there doing their daily routines and loving each other. So if you feel energy around you, it could be one of them.
We all have MANY spirits living around us, we just usually do not know they are there. If you have pets, pay attention to them. They will always see what our eyes cannot. My cats often stare at or play with things that I cannot see.
I wish you vision BEYOND the veil that separates the two worlds.

We often get snippets of energy from people who are trying to cross over but are for some reason stuck on the earth plane. If we can locate that person, it is usually not hard to help them find their way to the Other Side. Since reading the Tarot and taking out the trash are two totally different events, I think that the voice you "heard" was a wayward Spirit who was trying to find her way "Home" back to Heaven. Since it only happened twice, it would seem that she went on her way shortly after asking for your help.
When a Spirit comes to us for help, it usually happens at random times, when our minds are not so cluttered with the other things we do daily. While you were reading your cards, you opened a channel to the Other Side, so that she could come through to you. When you "heard" her while you were taking out the trash, your mind was probably CLEAR of all other thought while you were performing that mundane task.
When you weren't able to "lock in" on her energy, she left and went somewhere else, looking for the help she needed to get where she wanted to go. If this begins to happen on a more regular basis for you, you should try to explore what kind of assistance is available in the area where you live to help these Spirits find their way "Home."
Of course, it could be that you opened a PERMANENT channel to ONE Spirit while reading the Tarot, and she just hasn't "tuned into you" enough to talk freely with you yet. Often, when I feel a lot of that kind of Energy around me, I check the obituaries in the newspaper to see if a child or a young person has died. Younger people seem to have the most difficult time realizing that they have left HERE and they need to be moving on to THERE. A life cut short by a sudden death can leave a young person in a Wandering Phase.
In many places throughout the world, there are groups that work that kind of Energy, helping restless Spirits get to the places they need to be going. Ask at metaphysical bookstores in your area to find out if such a group exists nearby. When you find these people, tell them of your experiences. I'm sure they will welcome someone who is sensitive to this kind of Energy. They probably will need all the help they can get! So many Spirits are lost and alone, with no idea how to travel or move on.
Whatever you decide to do about this gift, remember: it is a HUGE responsibility to try to help someone find the Light, and as with anything else, practice makes perfect.

Many times in life we hear, "You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT." Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown's book was all it took to get you there.
Even though you hadn't read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!
While I don't usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity - you gotta love it!
I like your description of "getting caught." That's exactly what it feels like, isn't it? One minute you're free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!
As a little kid, I loved that "feeling of return." With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.
I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family's interest in "psychic stuff" will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.
You'll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she'll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn't nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it's STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!
Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.
A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don't get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you're doing here on Earth.
You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
