When you dream about another person and it feels like real life, is it possible that your soul meets them at that moment in time while you are asleep? Can dreams be shared by two people? If somebody is having a dream about me, might I know about it through my own dream, or might they? I would love to hear your comments on this! Thank you.

Yes, dreams can be shared when souls meet while their physical bodies are at rest. If you can accept that on faith, I think that's wonderful. Unfortunately, most humans require proof, and there is only one way to get that ñ by asking the other person.
Even then, many people block awareness of all of their dreams so they don't remember ANY of them at all. Other people absolutely refuse to discuss their dreams with anyone. Depending on the other person, you can usually find a way to ask if you feel you must. I strongly advise against that in your case; eventually you'll be able to do it, but it's not time yet.
Often, people will share dreams but not necessarily at the same time or on the same night. Those dreams usually feel real but a bit weaker. Since dreams don't always coincide, you might not always know that the other person was dreaming the same dream even if you asked.
Strong feelings can manifest as dreams. There are times you are broadcasting and times the other person is. Discovering this can be a delicate process for a couple, so let him direct the schedule for this.
In the mean time, do all the usual things: Keep a dream journal even if you are just napping, and write down everything you can remember as soon as you wake up. Keep it for three months before you go back over it.
Daydreams are almost as important as night dreams, especially in romantic connections or situations you hope will become romantic. Keep a separate small notebook with you at all times to record your day dreams in.
I've been a psychic reader for some 40 years now, and have discovered that while dreams are often shared, usually people don't discuss them so they never know that this has happened. I know there are several readers here at Kajama who are able to tell you if you're sharing dreams with someone or if the other person's dreams are similar to yours. You know you probably are, but confirmation never hurts.
If I were reading for you, I would tell you that you are definitely sharing those dreams with the person you love, but there is very little you can do about it to make him see what's going on. He'll find out his own way. Asking him if he is sharing those dreams at this point in your relationship would either scare him half to death or make him think you're nuts! Once you're together, he'll broach it himself, so just sit tight for now.

Our spirits are more strongly connected to each other than most people realize. For this reason, whether we are awake or asleep, our hearts and minds can easily reach out to each other. It's not uncommon to dream about someone only to discover they were dreaming of or thinking about you at the very same time.
You may also dream about someone when they are going through a difficult time, so when a person graces your dreams, you may want to reach out to them by phone or email. Because we are sensitive to those we care about, it's not unusual to dream about a person or for them to have a dream about us, only connect with them in real life shortly after.
Sometimes when we have these experiences, we can actually be astral projecting to the people we dream about (or vice versa) to interact on a soul level. Whether your dreams contain personal events or you are simply an observer, these experiences could involve you leaving your body and being transported to the other person.
Astral projection is a gift that can be developed and eventually controlled. If you investigate how to strengthen your gift for astral projection, you could soon be able to direct your astral travels in order to visit other people, places or times.
When people are far apart or have no reason to be in contact, (i.e., they've broken up or haven't seen each other for a long time) or one of them has crossed over to the spiritual plane, it is natural for our subconscious to want to interact with them. Oftentimes this is done through our dreams, as it allows us to connect with them on a soul level even when it's impossible to reach out to them physically.
Also, if there are unresolved issues, buried fears or latent feelings that we aren't aware of consciously, our subconscious will deal with them through these types of dreams. The actual dream may have no bearing on real life situations, but it can hold hints of issues we need to address or clear up.
When lovers find themselves far apart, their souls may use dreams as a way to connect on a soul level. Though we rarely have control of our dreams or the ability to program them to go a certain way, our subconscious always knows what we need.
I suggest you keep a diary of these dreams, and then, if possible, compare notes with the person you dreamed about. This could confirm that you were simultaneously reaching out to each other across the ethers.

Many times in life we hear, "You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT." Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown's book was all it took to get you there.
Even though you hadn't read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!
While I don't usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity - you gotta love it!
I like your description of "getting caught." That's exactly what it feels like, isn't it? One minute you're free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!
As a little kid, I loved that "feeling of return." With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.
I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family's interest in "psychic stuff" will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.
You'll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she'll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn't nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it's STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!
Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.
A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don't get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you're doing here on Earth.
You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
