It's interesting to take note of how people respond to unusual circumstances. For example, the other night a wild thunderstorm ripped through town. For about an hour before the onset of rain, the night sky was illuminated with the brightest, most frequent lightning I've ever seen. The people who had scurried inside moaning and groaning at the first sign of "trouble" missed it, while those of us who had wandered out in curiosity enjoyed an incredible light display. For some, this storm was a source of fear or inconvenience, but for others, it was truly awesome. There is beauty to be found in even the ugliest situations for those who are still open and curious and capable of wonder.
