– Erica Jong
It can be scary to act on impulses, even those that are entirely kind. Sometimes I have an impulse to reach out to someone who is angry or upset, and part of me is just overflowing with kindness, but part of me is afraid of being rejected, attacked or ignored. If I hold back, I often regret it, but I never regret being kind, even when I don’t get the results I’m hoping for. I say if you have a kind impulse, act on it without concern for the result. Bravely take risks in order to honor your own truth and do good in the world, and let that be enough for you.
