Time after time, I have noticed perplexing patterns in my life. For example, I will have a personal experience or lesson, and right after that, I’ll get a question from a reader of my advice column that perfectly correlates with whatever I’ve just learned. I will find a way to make peace with some challenge, and right afterward, I’ll get a number of spiritual counseling clients who are seeking guidance on similar experiences. This has led me to believe that our deepest problems and challenges happen for good reasons; they not only teach us what we most need to learn, they also empower us to help others. The more we are committed to doing the work of Spirit in the world, the more our own experiences tend to synchronize in amazing ways with opportunities to be of service to others.
