stressedout

Always say ‘yes’ to the present moment. What could be more futile, more insane, than to create inner resistance to what already is? What could be more insane than to oppose life itself, which is now and always now? Surrender to what is. Say ‘yes’ to life — and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you.
– Eckhart Tolle

Every time we start feeling bad, upset, anxious, bored or frustrated, we can be sure we’re NOT saying yes to the present moment. We may be caught up in fear that whatever is happening won’t work out okay, or we may just be wishing that we were somewhere else, doing something we believe would be more enjoyable. We all have tasks we must perform and problems we must solve. Unexpected developments regularly jar our expectations and mess up our carefully planned schedules. When we energetically resist whatever is happening in the moment, we naturally feel upset, stressed out and frustrated. When instead, we say yes by smiling upon whatever is happening in the moment and going with the flow, we bless ourselves with a relatively pleasant and effortless journey through whatever life sends our way each day. I know that when I make my first aim to simply enjoy each moment, everything else seems to take care of itself.
