– Louisa May Alcott
I experienced the worst thunderstorm of my life the other night. The lightning seemed so close, I expected it to reach right through the window. If a door were opened, the winds swept in rain, branches of trees and other debris. The storm lasted for hours, practically the whole night through – and I slept fitfully. In the morning I woke to the contrast of a bright, fresh dawn, and I felt silly as I thought about how we worry about so many things where in truth, we end up surviving just fine. We are powerful spiritual beings in a world where storms are essential to the maintenance of balance, and no matter what happens, odds are we’ll find a way through it, just as we always have.
