and my talents, and I lay them both at His feet.”
– Mohandas Gandhi
Why is it that we give thanks to God for our personal gifts and strengths, yet we beat ourselves up for our faults and weaknesses? We have been born divinely imperfect, wonderfully prepared to begin learning new lessons and rounding out our unique spiritual make-up. While we may fear that accepting our shortcomings will leave us stuck with them, the reverse is actually true. When we can honestly face our weaknesses and see the divine gifts in our challenges, we gain great power to transform ourselves and our experiences.
