In launching this new site, I had about a thousand decisions to make that would directly impact both myself and other people in both big and small ways. Often, these decisions in some way centered on how much I was willing to take others’ needs and desires into account, and how far I would go in compromising my ideals in order to accommodate their personal preferences. As I weighed these decisions, my husband kept telling me, Honey. You can’t take care of the whole world anymore. This is business!
While I heard what he was saying, it never rang true to me, so time and time again when I wasn’t sure what to do, I found myself throwing logic and practicality out the window in favor of love and kindness. I know this will prove positive, for it just feels right. While it probably is too soft
and impractical
to promote typical business success, that’s fine by me because I’m not interested in a typical business experience anyway: I’m aiming for something truly extraordinary. If being hard-nosed and practical is all you need to succeed, just think what employing the power of love might do! Whenever you find yourself struggling with a decision that will affect other people, I encourage you to ask yourself what love would do and lean in that direction. It has always worked beautifully for me.
