There are few things in life better than that groovy feeling you get when you realize the person you’re talking to not only understands your unique way of viewing life, but digs it and can totally relate. I have a new friend who is a lawyer, and I have been much braver than normal in opening up to her about my spiritual life, for I can sense that even though she may not see things the same way, she won’t reject me for being different. The other night, we had the most amazing conversation when she shared an early spiritual experience that was totally unlike any I had ever heard before – except for my OWN first mindblowing experience. It takes courage to be open about who we really are, what we really believe, and the weird stuff we’ve experienced, but it is so worth it when it leads us to discover a kindred spirit.
