At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.
– Lao Tzu

Every day, I counsel people who are having a hard time accessing their own inner knowing, not because it isn’t talking to them, but because they’re tuned in to other voices: abstract ideas about what they ‘should’ want and what they should do even though it’s not what they want to do, what will and won’t work out, what could go wrong if they follow their bliss, etc. To hear our inner guidance clearly, we have to stop imagining what might happen if we choose this path or that path so we can get boldly honest with ourselves about how we really feel and what we really want. When we allow ourselves to feel as we really feel, the answers we’ve been seeking begin to crystallize, and all sorts of new ideas and possibilities begin to take shape. If you could have anything at all and know that it would work out for the best for everyone involved, what would you choose? That is the answer you’ve been looking for. It will take courage to act on it, but that’s the only path that will lead you to the big happiness and true fulfillment you’re craving.
