– Benjamin Button (from the movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button)
I once knew a very wise old woman who gave me some great advice when I was trying to decide whether or not to leave my first marriage. She said that if you see two paths before you, and you can’t decide which one to take, you should take the one that scares you the most, for that is the path lined with the blessings of your desires, whereas the other path will feel dead and constricted by the limits of your fears. I chose the path that scared me – ending the marriage – and I can’t even begin to tell you how wise that proved to be. It’s scary to start all over again, but it’s exciting too. If you find yourself at a crossroads and you’re not sure which way to go, I encourage you to choose the path that requires the most courage, for in my experience, that is the path that leads to a rich, exciting, and truly rewarding life.
