Daily Inspirational Message for December 29, 2013

earthfromspaceThe Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known.
– Carl Sagan

Whether we believe in life on other planets or not, whether we believe in reincarnation or not, whether we believe that there are worlds beyond this dimension where our souls can continue to explore all sorts of wonderful experiences, I don’t think any of us can deny that life on Earth is an incredible blessing. Earth is a beautiful planet bright with natural beauty, exciting adventures and endless possibilities. The earth naturally provides us with all we need in terms of food, shelter, water and air. In addition to taking care of our natural resources, I believe we have a responsibility to be grateful for this opportunity, for when we treat life with reverance and appreciation, we channel healing, loving energy into the world. Look around you for a moment, and ponder how amazing this planet really is. Give thanks for winter as well as summer, for rainy days and starry nights, for dolphins and spiders and even the angry driver who just honked at you in traffic. If you step back and think about it, it’s all wondrous and amazing, and every one of us is lucky to be here.
