I’ve been blessed with so many miracles, and I’m so grateful. The following story, however, usually astounds people the most.
I was in the final months of a mortgage forebearance agreement that was hard to meet, but I was managing. The payments were not allowed to be even one minute late. I was $200 short for the November payment, and was expecting a $300 check for a job I’d done.
Three days passed, and the final day came and no check! I was in a panic. The payroll company said the check had been mailed, but it had never arrived. I will never forget what happened next. It was 10:45 a.m. and my payment had to be Western Unioned by noon. I sat on my bed and said, I need a miracle in 30 minutes, and I don’t care how it comes, but I need $200 to make this payment!
There was nothing I could do. I couldn’t sit and wait, so I had the impulse to go to the postal center and ask the sorting department if the check maybe got misplaced. I drove the five minutes there, and a woman I had never met before named Rosa came out. I told her my story about my missing check, and she agreed to look around. A few minutes later, she said it wasn’t there. I broke down in tears and told her why I needed it to make the mortgage payment. Rosa said, I can give you $200. You can pay me back when you get your check.
I was speechless, in awe, and in a state of love and gratitude unlike any feeling I’d had before. She wrote me a personal check for $200, I ran to my bank, ran to Western Union, and the payment was received at 11:40 a.m.
When I got my check, I saw that it had had the wrong zip code on it, which is what caused the delay. I immediately tried to give Rosa her money back. I called but couldn’t get through. The next day, I called and she wasn’t there. The third day, I just went down and sat waiting for her. When she saw me, she was so sweet. I gave her the check, thanking her, and she said, I can’t take your money. God told me it was a gift.
We talked for a little bit and she assured me that this was what she wanted.
To this day I tell this story in honor of Angel Rosa. I bless her all the time, and I tell this story in hopes that someone going through a similar desperate situation will know they have the same power. Follow that hit of intuition, and know that there is a Rosa out there for you, too!
