For some time now, I have been convinced that the Law of Attraction works. I have practiced it with varying results, being extremely successful at times, and less so at others. Recently though, I have had a little more trouble keeping the faith and felt like I was pushing and worrying a lot more.
While recently on vacation, I took a day to recenter myself and think about what I most wanted for my life, a practice I find extremely empowering. One of my major requests to Spirit was more frequent encounters with my soul mates, people I have yet to meet, but with whom I share a deep spiritual connection.
While flying back from my vacation, I was delayed in New York City for two days due to a snow storm. The first day was frustrating, as I spent most of it trying to find a way home. And once my second rescheduled flight was also cancelled (although it seemed like the snow was lifting), I decided to stop fighting it completely and accept the fact that there was some higher purpose for finding myself stranded in New York.
As I boarded the shuttle to the hotel, a man came on behind me. He was an extremely attractive man, which is probably why he caught my attention. We started talking and immediately had the most intense connection. Our lives were completely different, and there is probably no other way that our paths would have crossed. We had the most wonderful evening over dinner, sharing and talking about our lives. It had been quite a while since I had felt such a strong immediate connection to someone. When it came time to leave, we commented on how strange it was that we would never see each other again, said good bye, and left without exchanging any contact information.
That night, I had an overwhelming sense that I had accomplished what I needed to in New York. The next morning, despite inclement weather, I was able to board my flight and head back home. Though it’s unlikely that this man and I will ever cross paths again, the intensity of our brief interaction told me that my request to Spirit had been answered, and indeed, I had met one of my soul mates.
