I can’t believe how fast a year goes by. My father unexpectedly passed away last December. Today, I was having a difficult time, for I kept remembering our last day together this time last year. We were Christmas shopping as was our annual tradition, and I was just re-living the day in my head. I kept going over the words I wished I had spoken or the signs I should have noticed that something wasn’t right with his health.
Needless to say, I was extremely emotional, and as I walked into my bedroom, I was thinking about how much I needed a sign from him. I needed a telephone call. A psychic medium had told me that was one of his ways of reaching out to us. Literally seconds after that thought, I looked at my cell phone to see a missed call from a random/unknown number.
I knew it was my Dad. Even more comforting was the fact that he knew what I needed before I even thought of it. I know my father is always with me and my family, but it’s the physical distance that is the most difficult. I have to keep reminding myself that this is my spiritual lesson/challenge, and that he is happy.
