I would like to share the following personal true account in the interest of serving fellow seekers regarding the spirituality of our nature and the divine truth behind our existence. I have been blessed with many experiences that demonstrate the existence of the divine reality we find ourselves in, and this event is one that left me in grateful awe of the unseen help, presence, and Love that surround us.

I was employed for 15 years as a trainer for the developmentally disabled, in a donation-based thrift store setting. During those 15 years, my wife and I took three disabled adults (with Downs syndrome) into our home in a state licensed foster care environment because these individuals were being mistreated in their former group homes due to their mental and physical vulnerabilities. We loved them, and they loved us. (Actually, they loved everyone.) We kept them safe, and we were a family for 15 years.

On to the story! It was during the 1990’s, and there was a Pizza Hut a few blocks from the thrift store, so sometimes I would go there for lunch. One day during the late winter months, I walked into the pizza store and saw a large 32-inch screen Sony Trinitron television on display as part of a contest promotion. It was worth over a thousand dollars, and certainly nothing we could afford. I walked over to the TV, put my hands on either side of it, and exclaimed in jest, This is going to look great in my living room. To qualify for the drawing, which would be held in the spring, you just filled out a paper slip with your name and phone number, and dropped it in a container near their register. You could enter the contest every time you came in, if you wanted, so I had several entries during those several months. I never paid attention to the actual date this drawing would take place.

Springtime came. While sleeping one Friday night, I had the following very short dream. I clearly remembered it when I got up Saturday morning and was getting ready to leave for work. I had no clue what the dream meant, so I shrugged it off.

The Dream:

I am standing in a room with several people. There is a man standing right next to me. He is clothed in an all white robe with a hood over his head. His hands are folded in front of him, and his head is tilted down such that I can’t see his face. I say to the people in the room, This guy knows how to levitate things, like in the movie Ghost. That was the end of the dream.

I reflected briefly upon the dream and the part in the movie Ghost where Patrick Swayze floats the penny up and into the hand of his wife. I have no idea why I dreamed that, so I let it go and drove to work.

Early that same afternoon, my wife called me at work and said a manager had called from Pizza Hut, asking for me. She said the guy said something about me winning a contest. I had never mentioned the contest at all to my wife, for I had never given it much thought. She gave me the phone number to Pizza Hut, and said the guy wanted me to call him.

I called the number, and the manager of Pizza Hut introduced himself as Darin and told me I had won the contest, which was not only for the TV, but also for dozens of free large pizzas, cases of pop, and a ton of their chicken wings! And all of it was redeemable anytime throughout the year. I was pleasantly shocked. I told him I would come by after work to pick up the TV.

When I arrived at the pizza place, Darin introduced himself, filled me in on all the other winnings that come with the TV, and offered to help me carry the TV to my vehicle. All the other employees were standing around me, staring at me rather strangely while congratulating me. The employees then went back to their duties, but the manager took me aside and rather nervously told me the following story:

I want you to know that this contest was on the up and up. This was a valley-wide contest that included all the Pizza Huts in the valley, so there were thousands of entries. We put all the entries into a very large box. I then cut a small opening in the top of the box, just big enough to reach your hand and arm down into without being able to see any of the thousands of slips/entries lying on the bottom of the box. We then got a ladder and selected an employee to climb the ladder and reach down into the box to select a winner. I held the box up over my head, and the employee began to climb the ladder. Before the employee got up the ladder, however, all of a sudden all the employees standing in front of me were gasping out loud, for an entry slip had floated up out the hole on top of the box! It floated down past my face and landed face down on the floor. It was so impossibly strange that right then and there, everyone present agreed that whoever’s name was on that slip should be the winner. I turned it over, and it was your name.

At that moment, the dream I’d had about the man levitating the night before came zinging back to my mind! Big wow! I was so amazed and so grateful.

I didn’t tell the gentleman about my dream, I guess because I suddenly felt this wasn’t really a fair contest because divine intervention had come into play. On some other plane of reality, everything was in divine order. I was thrilled that day to set the TV in front of my acquired family, who loved cartoons, Power Rangers and such. They loved it, and that’s all that mattered to me. We all grew happily fatter together on all the pizzas, pop and chicken wings we ate for free that year.

I would like everyone to understand that we ALL have friends in high places. We are never alone, and our True Heritage finds us always in the Presence of Love. I thank you for your time, and I sincerely hope that my sharing of this experience contributes to your eternal gift of divine life and consciousness.
