Learning to Trust My Intuition

The following story takes place at a time in my life that was really difficult. I was traveling from England to France after having spent almost three years in a bad relationship. Looking back on it now, I can see that I got myself into that bad relationship and a lot of heartache because I failed to listen to my intuition. At this point, I was desperate to change my life, so I had decided it was at last time to listen to my intuition and let it be my guide on this trip. Since I was not in the habit of this, it took a lot of courage for me to just trust and follow my inner guidance wherever it may lead me.
I had a travel book for a reference, but I didn’t make any reservations when I set off on this trip, for I had decided to trust my inner voice and let it show me the way. I got off the train to spend the night in some small town in France after traveling from Calais on my way to the Champagne Region, and had no idea where I was going to stay. After wandering through the town for about 20 minutes, I looked up to see a sign for a small hotel. I remembered that this hotel had been mentioned in my travel book, so I made my way there.
They had a small, clean room available at a very reasonable rate. I spent a very pleasant night there, and in the morning, I sat down to a free breakfast of hot coffee and the most delicious assortments of breads, croissants and pastries, including homemade preserves. It was quite possibly the best bread I have ever eaten in my life. I later found out that the owner of the hotel was also a fine pastry chef.
This was an experience I will always remember, because it was on that day that I learned that if I listen to my intuition, it will guide me to whatever I really want and need in life. Ever since that day, I listen to my intuition, and it has helped me countless times.
