2012 was shaping up to be an awesome year. I was in a relationship with a man I loved and we were discussing marriage. I was working toward a career move. I was happy, healthy and excited for everything that was happening.
By May, everything was changing. The relationship carpet was pulled from beneath my feet and I found myself single and stunned. Work was still building, but the money wasn’t coming in quite as quickly as I hoped. My grandma passed away. I found myself with a medical scare for the first time in my life, requiring testing and worse, waiting for answers. I felt like the perfect little life I had had just months earlier was nothing but a faint memory. I knew I had two choices: I could let everything bring me down, or I could figure out a way to turn it around on my own.
I had a friend who had been going through a lot in her personal life and we decided to join forces. We would embark on a spiritual journey together, and would be a support system for one another. We began reading a lot about the power of simply changing your point of view – about choosing to see things differently. It is safe to say to we both started seeing great changes in our lives. My friend began researching spirit guides and angels, and we began calling upon ours for comfort.
When I really started consulting my angels and spirit guides, I found them readily appearing in my life. I received a text message from Hannah
with a phone number containing my
numbers. I was quick to write it off as spam, but then I stopped myself. If I was choosing to see things differently, I would choose to graciously accept signs as well. This would not be the last I’d hear of Hannah. Exactly three months later to the day, I received an email (in error) from a lady named Hannah. And three months to the day after that, Hannah was everywhere – in a post I read on Facebook, a character in a movie I stumbled upon, a character in the TV show I accidentally turned on thinking it was something else. I don’t know anyone named Hannah and when I Googled the name (yes, I had to know more about her!) a story of the biblical Hannah popped up first – a story of a woman I could really connect to. I felt honored that this Hannah
had appeared in my life and popped up whenever I really was losing faith. I felt I found my spirit guide!
About this time, a name popped into my mind – Frank. I have no one in my life with this name and could not for the life of me figure out WHY I couldn’t get this name out of my head. So one night before bed, I pointedly asked, Frank, are you my spirit guide?
The next morning when I woke up, I saw a paper cut out of the letter ‘F’ on the floor next to my bed. I was stunned but pleasantly surprised. I told my skeptical sister what had happened, and even she had to acknowledge that it was weird. Months later I mentioned Frank to her in passing (we love talking about him). The next morning, the letter ‘F’ was back on my floor. I left it where it was and brought my sister to see it. It was undeniable. He had left his mark again.
I know none of these things sound major, but to me, they were. I chose to see things differently. I chose to really connect to my spirit guides. I chose to open my mind and my heart to their guidance and I truly feel things changed for the better. I still have a long way to go on my spiritual journey, but I am enjoying the ride. I feel I have someone (or in my case two spirits) that I can call upon who are readily available to me. That comfort alone was enough to change my mind and empower me to change my life.
