I had an unusual dream last night that I could use some help interpreting. I was told in my dream that I had a soul mate but he was in a different dimension. As I asked questions about this, I was also told he was at least a century older than me, and that we would be able to communicate but it would be quite some time before I was skilled enough to do so. I'm laughing at myself and just curious to hear your take on this. Have I lost it? I suppose I'm curious because I've had many, many dreams come true. Do you think this one could be true too? If so, I need to start studying and training, for I don't want to wait a year to talk to him!

I'm curious: are you looking for a soul mate in THIS dimension and having trouble finding the right person for you? If so, perhaps your subconscious created a plausible reason for not being able to find him. Fear stops many people from successfully finding a partnership they can enjoy.
The man you dreamed about is in another dimension in a way, for you haven't met him yet in this one. Dreams are symbolic, so him being in another dimension could symbolize that he's in another location or in another mindset and not yet ready to cross over
to you. That doesn't mean that he never will, but you may have to help him by visualizing him here with you.
Just because it seems impossible, you certainly haven't lost it.
While you've had many realistic dreams come true, this one certainly won't come true in a literal sense because you will meet this person. You may have met him already, or he may be close by and starting to move in your direction.
You're not crazy. I'm sure in the dream, everything seemed very realistic. The people, places and things we see in our dreams do exist in another dimension - the place we go in our dreams. For a dream to become reality, we must take its symbolism and manifest what we want here in real life.
This is a choice like all the other choices people make in their lives. I will share with you that you're not the first person who has dreamed that the perfect mate was far away or somewhere else, only to later manifest him coming closer through conscious meditation.
It's good to learn to communicate with other dimensions anyway. Start studying up on that even though this dream was just a dream. If nothing else, the dream clearly told you that you can find the ability within yourself to communicate inter-dimensionally.
If this person was described to you in the dream, then start looking for him in this dimension. Do remember, however, that soul mate
is a state of mind. A soul mate is the person we choose for that role, and while Destiny may play a part in that, it's choice that really makes it happen.
What is wonderful about your dream is the message that this person will be found. Also, perhaps you now have a clearer picture of the living, breathing partner for whom you've been searching. Often the qualities we want in a mate are presented to us in our dreams, so now you'd be wise to look around and find the one you want on this side of the Veil.
Finally, in my view, a year is nothing to wait for the right person!

The term soul mate
means a number of things to people. In truth, we all tend to have connections with many different types of soul mates. These relationships go above and beyond the typical concept of one person who will become our life partner or represent our one true love.
As we pass through our soul experiences in this lifetime, we will have different connections to people who will play important roles in our lives. They are all vital and integral to us in one way or another. While some will return to us in physical form time after time, others will choose to travel along with us in alternative dimensions as guides, advisors or protectors.
I suspect that your dream may refer to one of these soul mates traveling in a parallel dimension who is not currently incarnate in human form. You can indeed communicate with him across dimensions, and learning how to do so will not take years and years.
In fact, there are a number of ways you can begin a regular practice to open the lines of communication right away. First and foremost, you will want to set aside time each day to sit and listen, meditate or journal to increase your ability to speak with him.
It may also be helpful to try and visualize him by sketching or drawing a picture as a means of centering yourself as you begin the practice of connection. There are many wonderful sources of information for channeling your guides as well as this soul mate who has revealed himself to you through your dreams.
For the most part, you already have the skills and awareness you need to do just that. Once someone enters your consciousness through your dreams, you are already on a path to making that relationship a part of your everyday life.
The soul mate in your dreams will serve as a wise and wonderful guide who can help you walk through this physical dimension with more clarity, spiritual awareness and inner confidence. In past lives, he may have taken the form of a father or teacher as well as a spouse or lover. In any case, he is ready to share and communicate with you. This is a wonderful opportunity you won't want to miss! If you are simply open to listening and sharing with him, your abilities to do just that will flourish.
Please don't give up on the idea of finding a heart-based soul mate here in the physical, however, for your experiences with a real-life soul mate will be just as important to you as the one you're developing with the sage soul-mate of your dreams.

Many times in life we hear, "You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT." Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown's book was all it took to get you there.
Even though you hadn't read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!
While I don't usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity - you gotta love it!
I like your description of "getting caught." That's exactly what it feels like, isn't it? One minute you're free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!
As a little kid, I loved that "feeling of return." With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.
I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family's interest in "psychic stuff" will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.
You'll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she'll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn't nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it's STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!
Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.
A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don't get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you're doing here on Earth.
