I've been dreaming about a man I don't really know in reality but have seen on TV a few times. He's a very intuitive individual. There are some things that are common to all the dreams I have about him. For example, I feel comfortable with him and we talk. He always initiates our conversations, which usually take place over the phone or in text messages. These conversations don't seem very significant, however. For example, in the first dream, he told me that I'm safe but if the thing
in the basement acts up, he'll be back to deal with it. Then he kept calling me from every stop he made in my dream. In the next dream, we talked and decided to be together, then five things were after him. In the last dream, I ran into him in an antique store and we chatted and planned to go for coffee when his conference was done. The conference was running late so he couldn't make it. He text-messaged me a few times and the last one was, Hey, is now a good time to talk?
My reply was, No, I have to go to work, but in eight hours I should be good.
I'd really appreciate any insights you have into these dreams.

We can never really know or understand why our minds pick out certain symbols to represent people, places and things in our dreams. Studies show that everyone is psychically in tune and gifted in their own unique way, but your dreams about this person give us a chance to look into some interesting possibilities.
I have some clues from you as to why this person initiates these conversations. In a way, you're talking to yourself, and in this case, this is NOT a bad or crazy thing! Your own inner voice
is what you're hearing. The dream representation of your inner voice is this person you've seen a few times on TV. The actual identity of this individual isn't important; your mind chose him because you associate him with a strong intuition.
You have lots of numbers that are coming up in these dreams. It's interesting that the number five is especially present. Fives in dreams usually mean that you're about to have some sort of major increase in your finances.
That you were looking at antiques means that you're ready to give up some of your old ways and welcome new opportunities and better people into your life. The five things chasing him (you) in that dream are good luck, more money, better choices, clearer thinking, and family harmony!
The thing acting up in the basement is once again YOU trying to hold yourself back from the wonderful things coming. Why we do that sort of thing is a mystery to me, but everyone does it from time to time. It is probably rooted in our feelings of worthiness.
Think of that basement as the repository of the worst things you've ever done in your life ñ all the things you might regret. You are storing those things there because that's what a basement is for. We put our base in there with all the things we have needed in the past, and then we forget about them!
In the past, you haven't always been able to totally trust your own intuition and inner voice, so this man has entered your dreams as someone that you can hear. You listen to him and believe in him, but he's really your own intuition personified as that familiar face from television.
I hope that you keep having these wonderful dreams. I insist that you park that ominous THING in the basement and keep climbing up and up in your life. Keep a dream journal handy so you can write down everything you can remember every time you wake from one of these dreams. Their value to you can't be measured, for if you let it, this inner voice you're hearing will guide and aid you throughout your life. Congratulations, and good luck!

When we feel drawn to someone, whether they are someone we have met in real life or only seen on television or in movies, there are always important reasons behind our attraction.
In today's world, text messages are becoming the norm when people want to touch base or share brief communications, so it's interesting to note that even though you don't interact with this man in real life, your dreams contain modern methods of transmitting brief but important messages.
It also appears that this person initiates your conversations but never seems to share anything of a profound nature. Though your talks are friendly and comfortable, they are generally vague or casual.
In one dream, he refers to the thing in the basement and how he will keep you safe from it. In dreams, the basement can represent dark or hidden fears you carry, or a place it might be scary to venture into alone. The basement also represents your foundation. Regardless, the basic message here is that he will protect you.
This speaks to his presence in your life as a source of spiritual protection. It is likely that this man is representative of your own intuitive voice, guiding you via your dreams. Being able to attach intuition to the personality of someone you consider spiritually evolved is a wonderful way to give form and voice to that part of your soul that is always watching over and guiding you.
The dream in which he checked in with you at every stop also defines the role of your intuitive voice: It is ever present and always watching out for you. When you were going to be together but then five things were after him, or when his conference ran late and he couldn't make the date, your ability to connect with him was undermined. This is a strong message that you may be allowing everyday life to interfere with your ability to hear your intuitive voice.
Our lives are so busy these days that we can forget to devote time to nurturing our spiritual sides. Using the quick fix text messages or phone calls to stay in touch with your inner knowing rarely works well. You might feel as if you are top of things and all is well, but just as in your dreams, you aren't receiving the quality of direction you could if you made more time to listen to your intuition.
By making a commitment to spend more time in meditation, you can strengthen your intuitive voice and your connection to your higher self. If you visualize this person as a symbolic messenger from your intuition, you can decipher these messages while in an awake but altered state of consciousness.

Many times in life we hear, "You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT." Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown's book was all it took to get you there.
Even though you hadn't read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!
While I don't usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity - you gotta love it!
I like your description of "getting caught." That's exactly what it feels like, isn't it? One minute you're free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!
As a little kid, I loved that "feeling of return." With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.
I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family's interest in "psychic stuff" will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.
You'll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she'll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn't nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it's STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!
Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.
A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don't get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you're doing here on Earth.
You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
