Double Vision: Is the Source of All Psychic Information the Same?

I've had a number of psychic readings over the years, and some have felt far more "spiritual" and healing than others, even though they may have been similar in terms of accuracy. Is the source of all psychic guidance the same, or do some psychics tap into "higher" or better sources than others? Love and light!

Dreamchaser:

I really am glad that you asked this question, because I think people need to understand this point.

I know how to drive. My son, who has his learner's permit, knows how to drive. A NASCAR driver also knows how to drive. All three of us know where the controls are and know how to use them. All three of us know the rules of the road and know how they are applied. Who do you think is the better driver? Do you think that experience plays a hand in the skills that each one possesses? The more advanced and experienced someone is at driving, the better the driver they will tend to be.

I think the same thing applies to psychic readers. We all tap into the same source of knowledge. There IS only one source of knowledge. However, some readers will be able to go deeper and apply more skill to the reading process.

I'll venture to say that you are going to get a deeper, more useful reading from Astrea or from me than you will from someone who just started reading a short time ago. My son can drive, but he has not had any experience driving in city traffic, in snow, etc. He doesn't know anything about that, since he hasn't done it yet. Similarly, a reader who has never channeled someone from the Otherside lacks experience with that sort of thing. While they can learn how to do it, they haven't done it yet.

You also need to realize that reading is much like looking at any other object. You and I could be walking down the street together and see a man coming towards us. I might notice his eyes, while you might notice his shirt. When asked about this man, we would both give a different perspective on him. It is the same with readers. Some people see the "eyes" and some see the "shirt," so to speak.

Further, some people are psychic, but they are not healers. If you do not feel any "healing" in a reading, it does not mean that the reader was wrong or inaccurate - it could simply mean that the reader did not have the ability to "heal" you as well as read you.

If you are aligned with receiving a healing experience when you get a reading, then Spirit will send healing in the way that you are best able to receive it. A good reader will go with the vibes Spirit sends them, and allow Spirit to guide the whole reading process.

I personally am a healer as well as a reader, but sometimes I feel I should not throw in too much healing stuff, so I don't. I must trust that Spirit knows best. So you can rest assured that whatever you got in each reading was exactly what you were supposed to get.

I wish you the ability to see excellence in all things.

Astrea:

While the source of all psychic guidance is basically the same, the way psychics tap into that source is as varied as the psychics who do it. Everyone I've ever met who is involved in this type of work has different techniques for gaining psychic information - none of us is exactly the same.

Some psychics say they have a "direct line" to Spirit, that they intuit guidance and information directly from the Source. Some use tools like tarot or astrology to help them figure out answers to the questions they encounter. Most of us use everything we can think of in order to get clear answers for our clients.

People also experience their readings in different ways. Even if the information comes in the same way over and over, they will interpret it as is right or easiest for them at that time.

For example, take the client who visits a reader over and over with the same questions, trying to get DIFFERENT answers. If you ask that person what the psychic told her, every day she may have a different slant on the reading because of what she WANTS to hear. People bend the information they receive around their own fears and desires, so it depends on their frame of mind as much as it does the readers'.

Psychics also give people different answers to the same questions. We're human too, and have our own subjective perspectives that we try to rise above while we're reading. Sometimes no matter how hard we try, however, our perspectives will spill over and color our readings with our opinions.

If someone is in relationship with someone who is bad for her, and she doesn't want to hear the truth, she may go from one psychic to another, trying to hear the answers she wants to hear. Eventually, she will discover someone working as a psychic who really isn't, and this person may tell her what she WANTS to hear just to keep getting her money. Until that person is ready to grow and make a decision on her own, she will use fakes as a crutch to hold on to a situation she doesn't really want to release.

The reason some readings feel more "healing" than others is due to the level of skill and compassion of the reader. Over the years, experienced psychics learn the wise ways to deliver answers that may be hard to hear. The more experience the psychic has, the more "healed" the client is going to feel.

When it comes right down to it, however, the psychic's number one duty is to try to get the client to learn to make decisions for herself. In my opinion, the "best" psychics are the ones who help people heal so that they can stand on their own two feet and live happy lives.

Astrea:

Many times in life we hear, "You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT." Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown's book was all it took to get you there.

Even though you hadn't read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!

While I don't usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity - you gotta love it!

I like your description of "getting caught." That's exactly what it feels like, isn't it? One minute you're free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!

As a little kid, I loved that "feeling of return." With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.

I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family's interest in "psychic stuff" will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.

You'll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she'll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn't nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it's STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!

Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.

A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don't get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you're doing here on Earth.

You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
