We all strive for more health, happiness, and hope in our lives. This enhanced well-being can be as simple as integrating any number of aroma-energetic practices into your life; these practices combine the powerful effects of aromatherapy and energy for a more powerful result. Margaret Ann Lembo, author of Chakra Awakening; The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals, and Stones; and the new Essential Guide to Aromatherapy and Vibrational Healing, provides 16 aroma-energetic wellness tips to integrate into your life.
- Use positive affirmations daily.
Everything is energy. All energy vibrates. Thoughts are energy. Therefore, everything we think about—every day, all day long—is energy. That energy in the form of thoughts broadcasts intentions and desires. Think about it–what thoughts are rolling around in your consciousness? Take the time to be mindful of what you are thinking, and change those thoughts to reflect what you DO want instead of what you don't want. Pair the thought with a gemstone or an essential oil to help you maintain your focus all day long. - Practice gratitude.
Thoughts of gratitude and actions that reflect gratitude go a very long way to making everything better. Yes, a kind word or a compliment can make a person's day, or perhaps be the tipping point to their personal self-worth in that moment. The practice combines thoughts, words, feelings, and actions in all aspects of life. For example, when I'm making a meal I send the energy of thanks to all the people, places, and situations that were involved in bringing the ingredients to my kitchen–from the farm to the workers to the truck driver to the grocery store clerk. Similarly, I engage this practice when I blend essential oils for a formula with the intention that love and well-being will be the resulting effect for anyone who uses it or smells it. How will you incorporate this practice of gratitude? - Make friends with a rock.
Crystals and gemstones amplify the sparkle and shine in your life. It doesn't take much effort to carry a rock in your pocket to help you maintain a focus on good thoughts in your heart. It's easy to become friends with a rock. Find one that makes you feel happy or looks pretty to you. Match a positive thought or affirmation to amplify your intention. There are probably plenty of gems in your jewelry box. Yes, the crystals embedded in your jewelry are equally as effective to use as a tool to design your reality! A box of crystals or a box of jewelry can become your toolbox for happiness and prosperity. Decide what you want, then match the positive intention with the crystal or jewelry that you will wear for the day. Every time you touch it, look at it, or think about it, use it as a reminder to focus on what you are creating in your life. - Take note of the color of the day.
Have you noticed that there are days where you see the same color more predominantly as others? We joke around at work, The Crystal Garden, when we all show up in the same color combination or the same color shirt and say, "I see we all got the memo!" When you take note of a color that seems repetitive, take time to think about or research what that color means. What is the message to that color as it relates to your life? Throughout all my books, this information is available to you. Here is a short list on some meanings of colors:- White: Purity, clarity, spiritual connection
- Purple: Transformation, protection, alignment with spirit guides
- Blue: Communication, inner peace, listen to the messages
- Green: Love, maintain focus on love, healing
- Pink: Love, awareness of the blessings
- Yellow: Self-confidence, ability to digest life, joy, happiness, enthusiasm
- Orange: Creativity, motivation, take action!
- Red: Vitality, prosperity, grounding, focus
- Find love in your daily interactions.
"You are love. Your true essence is love. Be aware that you are love in all you do, say, think, feel, smell, taste, or know, and you will be happy and healthy all the days of your life."
—Excerpt from chapter five of Chakra AwakeningTo find love, be love. Focus on your heart center, and make it your goal that all you do is with the underlying intention to energetically radiate love and well-being. It is a daily practice that transforms your life into bliss. The word practice is key to finding and being love; it is just that—a practice. Just as you practice any activity to become better at it, similarly each one of us can make the choice to practice love.
Some days I use lavender or a blend of essential oils to help me maintain focus. Other days I'll use a combination of Gemstone Essence of rose quartz, kunzite, pink opal, pink calcite, emerald, and green aventurine integrated into a heart chakra blend of oils, like grapefruit, hyacinth, lavender, rosewood, spruce, and sweet marjoram. Combining Gemstone Essences with essential oils adds another layer of assistance.
- Connect with Archangels and Ascended Masters.
Archangels and Ascended Masters are available to everyone! Upon your request, they create and maintain the energy of love, light, and well-being. Anything that is not aligned with loving energy is thereby forbidden in your sacred space. I consider them my personal entourage. Call upon specific Archangels and Ascended Masters for positive vibrations, to protect your space, and to encourage the actualization of specific intentions. Get in touch with some of their "jobs" and what they can do for you. For example, Archangel Haniel is helpful for garnering determination and alignment with your soul's purpose. Match the intention and Haniel with palmarosa or geranium to move toward your goal. Did you know you can pair your connection with Archangel Zadkiel and St. Germain with grapefruit, lavender, and wintergreen to transform your reality? The Easy Reference Guides in the back of The Essential Guide to Aromatherapy and Vibrational Healing make it easy for your to learn and work with Archangels, Ascended Masters, and essential oils in combination. - Bond with a power animal.
Power animals, or animal totems, are allies for you. You can petition them to help on an energetic level for life situations. Connection with animal totems brings a deeper understanding of the gifts of nature. Similar to spirit guides, animal totems energetically travel with you to enhance your efforts in spiritual pursuits and practices as well as all levels of self-improvement. The energy of totem offers insight and amplifies the benefits of a given essential oil. This is the vibrational aspect of the healing of aromatherapy. For example, butterfly is a totem for transformation and an ally for the next chapter of life. Match the essential oil of peppermint to amplify the ease of the journey for clarity. Cat as a totem can represent many things, and one of them is comfort. Therefore, an adult cat matches up with chamomile while kittens match up with lavender—both essential oils provide comfort and calm, much like the animal medicine cats and kittens provide. - Align with the cycles of the sun, moon, and planets.
The cycles of our lives have a direct correlation to the movement of the sun, the moon, and the planets. Astrological aficionados already relate to this understanding. The zodiac, the movement of the luminaries, as well as the planets, offer another level of self-understanding and tools for exploration of this earth walk. Each one holds a vibration and is symbolic, and therefore there is a correlation to the energetic vibration of essential oils and all life. Take cedarwood as an example. Cedarwood is a grounding essential oil. It helps you maintain focus, and it is also a stabilizer for essential oil blends. (Essential oils are volatile, and there are specific oils that will stabilize the scent to make it more evident for a longer period of time.) Capricorn is the astrological match for cedarwood, and the Earth and Saturn are the planets with which to align with for a deeper understanding of the gifts of cedarwood.
There are so many things you can do to enhance your wellness each and every day with aromatherapy and energy. Below are seven more easy steps to take each day to enhance your wellbeing:
- Take notice of number repetitions.
- Spend time in nature and listen to the flowers and plants.
- Make and use your own holy water and gemstone tinctures.
- Clear your space and put well-being in its place.
- Pay attention to the messages of Divine guidance.
- Read a book.
- Integrate essential oils into your daily life for health and well-being.
- Remember your true nature—love.

"Life happens. Life in the flow."
We learn over time that nobody can solve our problems, but someone can guide you how to solve the problem. You may receive guidance through a teacher, a guru or even strangers that you run into every day. As we practice yoga we learn that the more we know, the less we truly know. Every day I am reminded how much I truly do not know; a very humbling experience.
Yoga teaches me to be present. To just live for being and enjoying life as it is right NOW. Not ten minutes from now, no five days ago, but right now. We are taught to get out of our heads, to release worries and fears of the past or the future and to only live for this very moment. Presence.
"Lead me from untruth to truth, lead me from darkness to light." ~ Buddha
Through yoga we are reminded that we do have a dark side as well as a light side. We are not to repress the dark side, but embrace that side of our Self. We are the yin and the yang. We ultimately cleanse the dark stuff we hold inside. We shine the light on this. We must make friends with dark side. Both positive and negative balance out the whole. Daily practice refines and improves our inner vision to see our Self more clearly. We no longer need to run from fears. Face them and say I'm not running from you anymore. So much is in our heads, so much dark is only in our heads, self-doubt judgment betrayal. Yoga grounds the body so that the light and dark sides of ourselves become clear. So much is truly untrue. But as we diligently practice we are able to find the middle ground and walk our centered balanced line in life. We gain balance in centered lightheartedness. We can have harmony in both light and dark.
"Yoga tells us that the world is actually a projection of our own thoughts and we can modify our inner world to manifest into our outer world. When our inside realm is at peace and in harmony, our outer world shines this projection back at us." ~ David, Jiva Mukti Yoga co-founder
Yoga is observation.
We can observe our world and see what part that is in us is begin reflected back to us. We can then see what part of us needs modification or adjustment in order to have our outer reality reflect back to us the peace, happiness and love we so greatly desire and deserve.
Yoga is already inside of you. Happiness is there. Yoga helps you peel away the onion layers to get to the core. To freedom. The deepest Divine connection to the Ultimate Light Source.
Come out of wanting and back into acceptance and Joy. A yogi or yogini can turn any situation into bliss. That is a yogi. Yoga is being now. Ultimate yoga is meditation. Just BE.
Yoga is love.
"Love is the light that dissolves all walls between souls." ~ Paramahansa Yogananda
Through a dedicated practice of all forms of yoga we can participate in the world with a sense of freedom, unaffected from trauma, depression, anger, etc. The freedom is balance in both.
