If someone is intentionally trying to hurt us, nothing is ultimately more powerful than simply not letting their words or actions get to us. The harder it is to forgive someone, the more powerful it is as well; letting go of anger and resentment and hopefully even summoning compassion is the ultimate in "defeating" our enemies, for then we leave them to their karma while we free ourselves to enjoy new happiness.
