Spirit is Knocking

I’m going to go out on a limb here and presume that you are reading this article because some weird things have been taking place in your life recently. Maybe you have started dreaming and those dreams are coming true. Perhaps you have begun to see things such as colors around people, plants or animals. It could be that you hear someone calling your name but every time you look around for the identity of the person calling you, there is no one there. Possibly you suddenly sense or know some information about a person, place or event that just comes to you.

Such events are disconcerting for most of us when they begin to take place. I’d venture to say that they are so strange that you may be questioning your sanity or downright freaking out. All of that is completely understandable. It is certainly a little scary when we don’t understand what is happening.

This article is offered in an effort to gain some of your equilibrium by learning what is taking place. The long and short of it is this: Spirit (which is known by many names) is knocking. In essence, this is your wake-up call!

When Spirit comes knocking, it is not to hunt you down or terrorize you in any way. If you are being told to harm yourself or others or that you are Jesus Christ or some other being, that is a whole other conversation. If you are thinking of harming yourself or others, I recommend that you immediately contact the crisis hotline at 1-800-273-8255 to speak with trained staff about your specific situation. Rest assured that Spirit would never prompt you to cause harm.

For everyone else reading this article, know that the unusual things taking place are Spirit’s way of connecting to you. Spirit is knocking on your mind’s door in response to the call you sent out from your heart. If you think it over, you may remember calling out from the pain you have been carrying. Take a deep breath and release it now. The dark, aching weight you have been carrying is one step closer to being released. That is what all of this means. Spirit is answering the call to lift you from the pain.

Sure, some unorthodox methods have been employed, but they did get your attention. Down the road, you will recognize that Spirit was trying to reach you way before the weird things showed up. You simply didn’t see that, because the pain had you blinded to Spirit. You were nearly without hope. It was desperation that opened the door to radical possibilities.

Don’t stress about the methods employed or about the weird things happening. Instead, I challenge you to go with it. Yeah, you heard me right! Stop fighting it and trying to make sense of it all. Ask Spirit for help in understanding the new things taking place until you come to a place where they are no longer weird. You will begin to consider them gifts. And indeed, they are just that: tools from Spirit to assist you in getting free from the pain.

Be aware that many new things, books, and people will start to enter your life as you begin to discover what these gifts entail. You won’t have to do it all alone. There is always support from Spirit. Teachers will show up to help you. It is also possible to ask for a teacher to help you. I suggest spending some time in thinking what might help you before you ask for one. Remember you are not alone. Every single one of us has gone through similar things when we began to awaken.

Though it might be tempting, I implore you: do not attempt to go back to sleep! The pain you carry will not go away if you do. It is possible to release the pain and wake to a world full of beauty, joy and love. The wonders you will experience are worth the work you do to get there. We need you to shine your specific light and gifts in the world. Be gentle with yourself. Take your time. I look forward to your journey.
