Daily Inspirational Quote September 17 2014

17-sep-quote"I have seen several entirely sincere people who thought they were seekers after the truth.
They sought diligently, persistently, carefully, cautiously, profoundly, with perfect honesty and nicely adjusted judgment -
until they believed that without doubt or question they had found the Truth.
That was the end of the search.
The man spent the rest of his life hunting up shingles wherewith to protect his Truth from the weather."
- Mark Twain

I recently had a conversation with a friend about church. I had attended a wonderful Spiritualist service and was offering to take him along with me sometime. He was adamantly opposed to going, and when I asked him why, he said, "Well, I'll go to your church if you come with me to a church of my choosing." I said, "Absolutely!" This really surprised him, and upon reflection, he realized that he had determined what he believed was false long ago, and then in gripping that belief tightly, he'd closed himself off from everything else that could be valuable or true.
