- Daily Inspirational Message for June 18, 2013
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
– Friedrich NietzscheWalking an authentic spiritual path is often a lonely, solitary endeavor. It will take you into territory that people you respect and care about have never seen for themselves or even heard of. They may think you’re weird or crazy, or be frightened by the ways you’re changing, which can cause them to try to censor, control or reject you. You may sometimes have beautiful experiences that totally blow your mind, and feel like there is no one you can share them with. You may sometimes also have experiences that scare the pants off of you, and know no one you can turn to for help. This is how it has always been and probably always will be, for in order to evolve spiritually, we must look less and less to the people around us for help, comfort and guidance, and instead develop a personal, ongoing, sacred/secret relationship with the Divine. – Julia Melges-Brenner, editor of Kajama

Astrological Outlook
Welcome to a brand new season of experience! The Sun will wade into Cancer on Thursday, which should slow our pace considerably. Translation? It’s time to grab the life-remote and hit the PAUSE button for a few days. Cancer is a sign of inner gestation; during times of strong Cancer influence, great personal growth and transformation can take place within. We’ll also be under the influence of a waxing full Moon in Capricorn this week, which is sure to promote lots of review and reflection. If there’s anything we need to complete, we should wrap it up now, before Mercury does its second about-face of the year and goes retrograde next week. This is no time to start something new, so sit back, put your feet up, and relax for a while. Am I One of Those Crazies?
by Margaret Curley Sanborn“There are hundreds of thousands, or millions, of [people] who toil away at their ‘guided’ passion, influencing little and known by few. If you know one, you can never quite figure out what they’re doing but it doesn’t seem to bring them a lot of happiness. Maybe some are happy, but many of them are frustrated…”
I Am a Back Seat Driver!
by Margaret Curley Sanborn“The two-seater bike is a symbol for me of my relationship with God. I envision myself living my life the way God would have it: God on the front seat, me on the back, both pedaling along to my next destination in this world. Unfortunately, I don’t live that way all of the time, and God is very willing to let me do it my way when I choose.”
